Seven years had passed since I was reincarnated as Alphys of the Balfont family, and thanks to that, I had grown up healthily. Although my childhood was a time when the game had not yet started, I secretly used my game knowledge for training. That said, it was nothing special; I was just consciously training with my preferred weapons and magic.
I honed my skills by repeatedly fighting weak monsters around the mansion. Meanwhile, the rest of the Balfont family trained in the underground training hall. ++It is frustrating, but if I join them now, it wouldn’t be any training at all. I’d just end up getting hurt, and that’s it.++
The Balfont family doesn’t teach any know-how. As if saying that a true genius needs no master, everyone honed their own skills. Nevertheless, the Balfont family reigned as the pillar of the kingdom.
In the midst of all this, I was fighting weak monsters, which made people in the mansion look at me suspiciously.
“Young master Alphys, where do you go every day when you leave?”
“Leorg-sama, your father, doesn’t say anything, does he…”
Leorg believed that anyone with the Balfont bloodline would naturally become strong. Or rather, that man only thought about himself. The reason he was happy when I was born was that he had another excellent pawn. He thinks it was fine if I got stronger by doing whatever I wanted, and if I died somewhere, then that was it.
Today, after finishing my monster hunt and returning to the mansion, the hallway was noisy. That must have been the second son, Gillium.
“You’re an almost extinct angel race, so I tamed you, but you’re truly useless.”
“No, you’re wrong! You didn’t let me fight!”
Gillium was a so-called monster tamer. The one he was pestering was a girl from the angel race.
Gillium was a mid-game boss character, standing in the way of the protagonist with a large number of different monsters under his command. In fact, there were several monsters around him now.
“Ha! You’re really a weak piece of trash!”
“You’re the trash!”
“What the hell did you say?”
“Gah!”
The angel race girl was blown away by a demon-type monster. Then Gillium stomped on the head of the fallen angel race child.
“Who was it that picked up a piece of trash like you with nowhere else to go? Huh? Tell me.”
“Ough…”
Gillium was a proud character and was the one who belittled Alphys the most. Even inside the mansion, he would pick fights with me and insult me. At times, he even hid my weapons or did other childish harassment.
++And the angel race child being stepped on is, if I remember correctly, Lushel, the hidden boss.++ She was said to be the weakest among Gillium’s subordinates and was sent as an assassin to the protagonist like a sacrificial pawn. After being defeated, she disappeared, but after the game was cleared, she became an incredibly strong opponent. Her strength was even said to be unreasonable, and it was said to be the highest difficulty boss battle among all RPGs.
“Hey, trash. Try speaking rudely again… huh?!”
“Gah!”
Lushel, kicked by Gillium, crashed into the wall. I couldn’t watch this any longer.
“Hey, leave it there.”
“Huh? I was wondering who it was, but it’s that shitty loser Alphys. Are you going for a walk again today?”
He looked down on me with a sneer, but the “trash” here was actually him. In the game, this guy said something about Alphys, like, ++”He’s the weakest of all the brothers.”++ Players must have been very surprised after the desperate difficulty battle with Alphys.
But when you look into it, there was nothing special. Few players said they struggled against Gillium. The reviews were mixed, with comments like “This guy is definitely weaker than Alphys” and “The surrounding enemies were stronger lol.”
“There’s no need for someone like you to know. Rather than that, release that angel race girl.”
“Huh? What did you say? You, of all people…”
“Of course. That angel race girl isn’t someone you can handle. Understand? This is a warning.”
“S-since when have you been able to talk down to this Gillium-sama, you bastard!”
Enraged, Gillium charged at me, but I dodged and tripped him. Gillium spectacularly fell face-first onto the floor.
“Ugh! Ouch…!”
“This is what happens when you live comfortably at home. I’ll say it one more time. Let go of the angel race girl.”
“Sh-shut up!”
“Your nose is bleeding.”
Blood was dripping from Gillium’s nose. Realizing this, Gillium held his nose and glared at me.
“Alphys, you dare to order me around? You’re a hundred years too early!”
“Then, what should we do? Should we just have a duel and settle this once and for all? If I win, I’ll take that angel race girl for myself.”
“A duel?! Fine! I won’t take back what I said! Hey, you trash over there, give me a cloth!”
It was a servant that Gillium had called. He treated the servant like trash. How many servants have quit because of him? A servant came rushing over, wiped his nose with his clothes, and Gillium pushed him away as if he was no longer of any use to him. He was truly the worst.
