“Alright! Let’s give it a try.”
After finishing my meal, I headed to the garden and decided to test each of my abilities one by one.
My status displayed before me:

I decided to start with my skills.
First, as a premise, skills are skills that can be used regardless of attribute and can be acquired later—whereas attributes are magic that can only be used with that specific attribute and cannot be acquired later.
In other words, skills exist independently, while attribute magic has multiple derivative magics for each attribute.
By the way, I could learn up to 10 skills. Replacing them was possible, but it was a tedious process, requiring a month of daily prayers at the church just to erase a single skill. It was a hassle, really.
First up is [Appraisal]. This one is straightforward. It allows me to see the status of any living being without the need for magical tools. [Appraisal] has ranks, with the lowest being B and the highest being S rank—the lower the rank, the less information you can see.
Then there is [Nullification]. This skill is really top-notch. As the name suggests, it nullifies practically everything—debuffs, curses, and other status ailments. It even prevents appraisal from working on me. Of course, it doesn’t negate physical attacks or offensive magic, but it still makes life significantly easier. The difference between having this skill and not having it is immense.
Lastly, there is [Magic Attack Boost]. This one is simple—it increases the power of magic attacks. Naturally, it’s quite strong and easy to understand. If I remember correctly, the minimum rank is C, with a 1.2x increase, and the highest rank is A, with a 1.6x increase in magic attack power.
When it comes to attribute magic, my low MP (Magic Power) limits the spells I can currently use. However, my starting MP of 20 is considered quite high. Therefore, I had a lot of future potential.
With the [Fire] attribute, I could only use the basic spell “Fireball” for now.
++Boom!++
++Yep, for level 1, it’s pretty strong, isn’t it?++ The power of magic varies depending on the individual and the amount of magic power used, even with the same spell.
Well, I’d leave the basic attribute magic for later. Roughly speaking—[Null] currently allows me to use only body enhancement.
Next is [Levitation]—well, there’s no real need to test this, I just need to get used to it. Levitation isn’t that hard, and the speed depends on my stats. It’s just a matter of practicing control.
[Stealth] allows me to erase my presence and the sounds around me. It is practically a must-have for assassins, but it has plenty of other applications, making it quite useful.
The issue is with [Space]. For now, I can use “Item Box”. This is way too convenient—I can even store food, and the capacity depends on your stamina. Stamina = capacity in kg.
And then there’s space transfer—I can instantly move to the location I think of. Moreover, the magic power required is always 10, regardless of distance, so it’s quite low. If my level goes up, I can use it frequently even in battle. This space transfer can be used anytime as long as I’ve been to the place before, and if I’m in contact, I can bring others along.
That covers it for now…
While increasing my attributes was impossible, I could still acquire more skills. The ones I wanted to obtain most urgently were—[Search] and [Parallel Thinking].
If I recall correctly, to obtain [Search] I have to locate 1,000 of the same monster within a day and to obtain [Parallel Thinking] I need to read over 100 books in a day. Both might sound difficult at first glance, but with my knowledge of the game, they were actually quite simple.
For [Search], I just needed to visit three goblin nests. Goblin children counted too, and I didn’t even need to defeat them, making it a relatively easy task.
[Parallel Thinking] was even easier. This was almost like a bug in the system. Since the type of book wasn’t specified, I could create my own. As long as it was recognized as a book, it would count. Therefore, I could simply make a book with two pages per volume.
Easy peasy. However, the same book doesn’t count, so making the books is a bit of a hassle. Well, whatever, let’s do it.
And so, I called Cedric and asked him to prepare the necessary materials. He looked at me suspiciously, but I managed to come up with a plausible excuse and got what I needed. By nightfall, I had finally acquired [Parallel Thinking].
“Yessss!”
++Yeah, this is [Parallel Thinking]… Incredible, I can think about multiple things at the same time without any problems.++
Oh, by the way, just to clarify, some people have unique skills like [Parallel Thinking] from the beginning, so not everyone who has them has fulfilled the conditions. In fact, I only knew about it as game knowledge, so people in this world probably didn’t even know that skills have acquisition conditions. In the game, those who happened to meet the conditions and obtained a skill often attributed it to a divine blessing or something along those lines.
Well, other than that, there are also skill scrolls, which allow you to learn skills—incidentally, skills that can be learned from skill scrolls are quite rare and can only be learned from skill scrolls.
Starting tomorrow, I needed to focus on obtaining [Search].
To do that, I needed to level up and increase my maximum MP to at least 50, allowing me to use spatial teleportation at least four times. The goblin nests weren’t exactly nearby. Traveling between the three forests would require spatial teleportation.
While four spatial teleports technically required only 40 mana, I also needed to use [Levitation], so 50 was necessary. Fortunately, [Levitation] consumed very little mana.
One might suggest using mana potions, but buying them would alert my father. For now, I wanted to keep my activities as discreet as possible.
As for leveling up, there’s a good method, but it’s not available right now, so for the time being, I have to do it the standard way.
Starting tomorrow, I’ll be hunting slimes…
